What is EIFS?

EIFS is a lightweight synthetic wall cladding that includes foam plastic insulation and thin synthetic coatings. It is energy efficient and provides a better barrier against heat and moisture transfer than other siding and exterior cladding options on the market.

What is stucco?

Stucco is a type of siding that adds a textured finish to a wall. It is made from a mixture of cement, sand, water and lime. It comes in a variety of colors and textures. There are two types of stucco systems. They are the 3-coat system and the 1-coat system. Stucco does not have a moisture barrier and it doesn’t provide insulation.

What is the difference between EIFS and stucco?

Aside from the differences mentioned above, EIFS provides better resistance to cracking and buckling, which happens often with stucco. There is more flexibility to an EIFS wall. There is also better durability during extreme weather with EIFS.

What is the difference between stucco and plaster?

The texture of stucco is rougher than that of plaster. Lime, clay or cement, water, and sand are all used in both stucco and plaster (with many possible additives).

How thick should Stucco be applied?

The stucco material is normally a 3/8 inch thick coat with a 1/8 inch finish coat put over it, resulting in two layers or coats.

What is EIFS Stucco?

Exterior Insulation and Finish System, often known as synthetic stucco, is a type of stucco that is applied to the facade of the building. It’s made of acrylic and installed in several 1/8″ layers over polystyrene or another type of insulation board on top of plywood or another exterior sheathing.

What is the difference between the 4.5 Oz mesh and the 15 Oz mesh?

The standard weight of mesh that is most commonly used for EIFS is 4.5 Oz. 15 Oz mesh is known as high impact mesh and is used primarily in commercial buildings.

Our office is in Louisville, KY. We ship our material out of warehouses and factories in Illinois, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

Do I need to buy a full pallet of mesh?

Yes you do to buy at the prices listed online. It is possible to mix different sizes of mesh though to make up a full pallet of at least 9 boxes. If you are purchasing less than a full pallet the price is $10 more per roll, except for the 15 Oz mesh which is $20 more per roll. There will also be shipping costs.
